It was Pack-the-Gym Night Friday, Jan. 24, in Maynard. However the visiting Clayton Ridge Eagles put a damper on the enthusiastic crowd by sweeping the Blue Devils. The gals lost, 48-28, and the boys lost a nail-biter, 60-56.

The boys started fast, taking a 17-12 lead into the second quarter, but the Eagles took over the lead in the next eight minutes, outscoring WC, 15-8.

The Devils also lost the third stanza, 18-15, but managed to keep it close, winning the final eight minutes, 16-15.

The Devils did a lot right against the 9-3 Eagles, including outrebounding the visitors, 26-19; however, CR had seven offensive boards to three for the Blue Devils. The Eagles were just 22-60 from the field while WC was 24-38.
