At Monday night's North Fayette North Fayette school board meeting, it was decided that the district will offer early retirement for the first time in three years to six eligible teachers in order to save the school district some money.

As an incentive, each eligible teacher would receive a one-time payment of $40,000 that would go into a health reimbursement account (HRA) to help pay for the cost of medical insurance until the retiree was eligible for Medicare.
