Marion M. Kehoe, 97, of Fayette, died Saturday, January 16, 2016, at Maple Crest Manor in Fayette.

 

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 25, 2016, at St. John Lutheran Church in Sumner, Iowa with Rev. Norman Bauer officiating.  Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Oelwein. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Monday, January 25th at Becker-Milnes Funeral Home in Fayette and for one hour preceding services at the church on Monday. Darlene Cummings Willadsen

 

 

Darlene Cummings Willadsen, 91, of Clermont, Iowa passed away Thursday, January 7, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Society in West Union, Iowa. 

Darlene, the daughter of Fritz A. and Gladine T. (Mays) Nottnagel, was born December 21, 1924 in Marquette, Iowa. 

She graduated from Marquette High School. 

Darlene was united in marriage with Hubert R. Cummings on October 7, 1944. To this union, seven children were born.  Hubert preceded her in death on September 10, 1993.

Darlene was then married to Dale Willadsen on May 12, 1995.  Dale preceded her in death on October 16, 2012. 

Darlene and Hubert farmed north of Clermont from 1949 until 1993, when they moved to Elgin, Iowa.  They spent many winters in Apache Junction, Arizona and travelled to many places around the United States and Europe.

Delores L. Berger, 83, of West Union, Iowa died Thursday morning, January 14, 2016 at Gundersen Health Center in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

Graveside services will be held at a later date at Hillcrest Cemetery in Volga, Iowa.

Memorials may be directed in her name to the Good Samaritan Society in West Union.

Delores LaRayne Miller was born September 30, 1932 in Fairfield Township, Fayette County, Iowa the daughter of Edgar and Charolette (Stevens) Miller.

She graduated from Arlington High School in Arlington, Iowa. 

In 1953, she was united in marriage to Robert Berger in Caledonia, Minn. 

Delores enjoyed making cross-stitch baby blankets, reading and playing bingo.

Dennis Dreier

Dennis Dreier

 

 

Dennis Dean Dreier, 75, of Clermont, Iowa died on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at his home in Clermont.

Dennis was born on February 14, 1940 to Emmett and Esther (Thompson) Dreier in Postville, Iowa.

He attended school through the eighth grade.

Dennis was united in marriage with JoAnn Mabb on April 8, 1962.

Dennis worked eighteen and a half years for Swift and Company in Rochelle, Illinois, five years at Iowa Ham in West Union, five years at Dura and also worked for John Rothmeyer and Loren Koenig.

He stayed busy and enjoyed fishing, woodworking, camping and liked cutting up meat.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Joann Dreier of Clermont, Iowa; one nephew, Randy (Vicky) Dreier of Postville; two sisters; two brothers and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Dennis was preceded in death by his daughter, Laura Ann; and his parents, Emmett and Esther Dreier.

With a big 48-43 win at home Tuesday (Jan. 12) over Postville, the North Fayette Valley girls’ basketball team surpassed last year’s win total of four. The team’s fifth overall victory was its fourth in the UIC, matching the number from last season.

The North Fayette Valley boys’ basketball team lost its first game of the week but rebounded to win the final two contests.

The TigerHawks lost at home to Waukon, 51-36, on Monday (Jan. 11), Tuesday (Jan. 12), they beat Postville 61-43, and ended the week in Oelwein, beating the Huskies, 62-40.

TigerHawk athletes Justin Kueker and Matt Appler swam with the Decorah team Saturday at the Rusty Garst Invitational in Fort Dodge.

The Vikings were seventh in a very strong field. Sioux City won, with Fort Dodge, Atlantic, Newton, Waterloo and Carroll finishing ahead of Decorah. Spencer was the eighth-place squad.

It was a good night for the fledgling North Fayette Valley bowling team Friday at Lilac Lanes in West Union.

The TigerHawks girls won their first-ever match, 1880-1385, over a veteran Cascade club.

The boys came within two pins of their second win of the season, falling to the Cougars, 2519-2517.

It was Parents Night and the two seniors, Colton Blue and Autumn Lamb, came through in style. Blue led the boys with a 230-205-435. Meanwhile, Lamb rolled a 124-138 to finish second on her team.

It was a busy week for the NFV wrestling team with a pair of triangulars and a Saturday tournament in Hudson.

During the week, Jared Kerr won his 100th career match, and Nick Baumler became NFV’s leader in career wins.
