“We’re starting to get some consistency,” noted NFV head cross country coach Tracy Nuss after his teams finished their races Tuesday, Sept. 20, in Waukon.

“Next, we have to work at improving the times, but at this point of the season, I’ll take our consistency and ability to race smart,” Nuss explained.

The boys’ varsity placed fourth. Decorah was the easy winner with 17 points; Crestwood was runner-up with 59 points.

Last week NFV head football coach Bob Lape admitted, “On paper, Oelwein doesn’t match up very well against us.”

It took the TigerHawks precisely 52 seconds to prove their coach correct as they took the opening kick and marched 65 yards in three plays. A perfect pass from Tate Hovden to a wide-open Josh Guenther in the end zone put NFV up, 7-0, at the 11:08 mark.
