George Washington Carver once said, “Where there is no vision, there is no hope.” Whether you are talking about the ability to see beyond the here and now or simply the ability to see, both ring true for northeast Iowa natives Kristen and Leah Reierson.

The sisters participated in a six-day trip to Nicaragua with the goal of providing impoverished areas with access to comprehensive eye exams and glasses for those needing them. The experience provided them with a unique perspective on the lives of others, as well as their own.
