Roberta J. Chapman

Chapman death reported

Roberta J. Chapman, of Magnolia, Texas, formerly of Elgin, died of cancer on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012. 

Roberta Jane Chapman was born in Elgin on Nov. 16, 1943. She was the daughter of Robert and Erma Jane Wilson. 

She graduated from Valley High School in 1961 and later earned a Bachelor of Science degree as a dietician.

Roberta worked as a dietician for 25 years.

  She was married to Hugh Chapman on May 6, 1977. 

She enjoyed community theater and bird watching.  She was also actively involved in the Lincoln County (New Mexico) sheriff's posse.

  Roberta was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, JoAnn Shaffer.

  She is survived by her husband, Hugh Chapman; two sons, Dan (Erin) and Larry (Terri); a grandson, Briley Robert; two granddaughters, Carlie and Cady; a sister, Kathy; and many other relatives.

Memorial donations may be given to the Friends of the Elgin Public Library.
