Both the South Winn girls’ and boys’ track teams began the 2013 at Wartburg on Tuesday, March 12, with several strong showings.

Abby Phillips locked in a three-way tie for first place in the high jump at 4’10”.

In the 55m dash, Brittany Shindelar was edged out at the finish line to take second in 7.96 seconds.

Sophomore Jessica Lechtenberg and senior Lindsey Buddenberg wrapped up the Lady Warriors’ top finishes in second and third in the 3000m run.

At 5’10” Chris Brincks finished second in the high jump for the boys’ team.

Junior Garrett Bohach also claimed silver for the Warriors in the 800m run with a time of 2:112.64.

The Warriors resume action at the UIC indoor meet at 4 p.m. Thursday at Luther College in Decorah.
