Karen Dietzenbach and Spencer Drewelow of Boulder, Colo., were wed in a 2 p.m. ceremony on Saturday, June 8. The Rev. Jerry Koparek officiated at the ceremony, which took place at St. Edward Catholic Church in Waterloo.

Parents of the couple are Ken and Mary Dietzenbach of Waucoma and Craig and Janet Drewelow of Waterloo.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor-length ivory gown featuring crystal-beaded lace and a cathedral-length veil. She carried a bouquet of ivory flowers with purple accents.

Attending as her sister’s matron of honor was Sheryl Becker of Marion. The maid of honor was Katie Linnen, friend of the bride, of Grand Forks, N.D. Bridesmaids were Ellen Brimeyer of Dubuque and Kelly Rock of Newport News, Va., friends of the couple.

The attendants wore cocktail-length dresses in purple chiffon.

Shelby Ohrt was the flower girl.

The bride’s personal attendant was Kayla Scheer.

The groom’s brother, Gabe Drewelow of Dubuque, served as best man. Groomsmen were Chris Hansen of Denver, Colo., Shaun Kane of Waterloo, and Dominic Arcuri of Lakewood, Colo., friends of the couple.

The ring bearer was Logan Ohrt.

The guests were seated by Michael Becker, Loras Even, Curt Hansen, and Andrew Roche.

Music was provided by vocalists Lynette Wheeler and Jim Maas with Dave Berns as pianist and organist. Jeff Eagan played the trumpet.

Caroline Armstrong and Samantha Foley were seated at the guest book. 

After the ceremony the couple were honored at a reception and dance at the Waterloo Elks Lodge.

The bride received her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice in 2008 from Loras College in Dubuque. She is a professional research assistant at the University of Colorado-Boulder.

The groom also graduated from Loras College, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in business management and accounting in 2010. He is employed as an accountant at T3Media in Denver, Colo.

Spencer and Karen are making their home in Boulder, Colo.
