‘Parlor Games’ to hit SW stage

Students of South Winneshiek High School are getting set to perform “Parlor Games,” a comedy by James C. Wall, Thursday-Sunday, March 13-16 at the auditorium in Calmar.

In the show practical joker Mort McNulty hosts his own wake before he's dead so he can hear what people will say about him after his death.

Mort's wife, Tricia, gets unwillingly drawn into the action and apologetically tries to convince everyone that Mort is playing another joke.

The audience will meet a variety of wake-goers — some there on purpose, some not — who eventually, with the right amount of suggestion and imagination, convince themselves that Mort is dead and Tricia is in denial.

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 13, through Saturday, March 15. The doors will open at 1 p.m. for Sunday, March 16, matinee will have 1:30 p.m. showtime.

Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students and will be available at the door.
