Virginia McGuire walked away from the recent West Union Women’s City Bowling Tournament at Lilac Lanes as the “Belle of the Ball” after winning the All-Events title.

The Clermont resident, and longtime league secretary rolled a total of 1851, including the high scratch series of 1536, to win the title. Denise Nelson was a close second with an 1837.

In other action at the tournament, Anytime Fitness won the team title. Dawn Samson, Amanda Kelly, Elaine Hanson, and Elise and Denice Vandersee combined for a 2999.

McJ’s with Joyce White, Ann Dibble, Denise Nelson, Jessica Sadler and Jennifer Everitt was runner-up, 89 points behind the winners.

Lynda Walkup, Lorry Kohls, Sharron Erickson, Shelvy Scott, and Lois Kocher formed the third-place Coffee Cup girls; they scored a 2903.

In individual action, Julie Lansing was tops with her 683. Carol Jensen (657) won a close contest for second over DeLois Martin (650).

The doubles crown went to Rhonda Dales and Jackie Halstead with their 1237. A dozen points behind was the team of Denise Nelson and Joyce White, while Julie Games and Karen Skinner placed third with a 1221.
