Mr. and Mrs. Leo Jones

Leo James and Linda (Thompson) Jones will celebrate 50 years of marriage with an open house from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 15, at the Hawkeye Community Hall in Hawkeye.

They invite their friends and family to stop by and help them celebrate their anniversary, but request no gifts, please.

The event will be hosted by their four children, Christopher (Christine) Jones of Hawkeye, Kimberly (Kenneth) Koester of Spokane Valley, Wash., Julie Jones and Andrew (Anessa) Jones, both of Hawkeye.

Leo and Linda were united in marriage in Orlando, Fla., on June 8, 1964.  In 1968, they settled and made their permanent home in Hawkeye, where they raised their four children and currently reside.

They were happy to welcome to their family nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The Joneses enjoy spending their time in the summer raising a large strawberry bed and an even larger garden. In the winter they get away from the snow by making visits to Florida or to their daughter in Washington state.
