Trees cut down in Clermont

 

 

he Fayette County Sheriff’s Office took a call of criminal mischief at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, in the 700 block of Mill Street in Clermont. 

 

When a deputy arrived on the scene, it was discovered that an individual had cut down four trees along Hwy. 18 next to the Viafield Co-op. The four trees were left on a sidewalk. City officials estimate the damage to be approximately $2,000. 

 

The four trees that were cut down were originally purchased as part of the Living Roadways grant through Trees Forever and the Iowa Department of Transportation in 2011.
