Swimmers back in action

The Decorah swim team splashed back into action last week.

Bolstered by NFV students Matt Appler and Justin Kueker, the Vikings beat the Vinton Aquatic Club, 55-39, Thursday, Jan. 5, in Vinton.

Kueker won the 500 freestyle and picked up silver in the 200 freestyle.

Appler won a gold medal in the 100 backstroke.

The two combined to help propel the Decorah 160 medley relay and 320 freestyle relay to victory.

There were no reports at press time from the scheduled meet in Waterloo on Saturday.
