Lorraine Ruth Geereart was born on May 26, 1936 on a farm west of Oelwein, Iowa, the daughter of Albert & Janette (Vande Voorde) Geereart.  She graduated from Hazleton High School in the Class of 1955.  Lorraine was united in marriage to Bernard Paul Stempfle on July 16, 1960 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oelwein.  In 1968 the couple moved to their family farm on the south edge of Maynard.  After they were blessed with 41 years of marriage, Bernard died suddenly on June 24, 2001.  Lorraine continued to live on the farm until 2012.  Lorraine was a homemaker and also worked for the DeKalb Seed Corn Plant in Oelwein for 35 years in the lab.

Lorraine was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Rosary Society.  She enjoyed playing cards, dancing, flower gardening, helping others and spending time with her friends.  She deeply loved her children and grandchildren and her friends meant so much to her.  Her grandchildren will always remember grandma Lorraine coming to watch them show their Holstein dairy cattle at the fair and her signature goulash, with the ketchup smiley face, that she always made for them.

Lorraine is survived by her Son: Paul (Jody) Stempfle of Maynard;

Daughter:  Lori Stempfle (Todd Boivin) of Keshena, Wisconsin;

2 Grandchildren:  Scott Stempfle and Jessica Stempfle both of Maynard;

Sister:  Alice Nelson of Independence;

Sister-in-law:  Janice Lamphier of Strawberry Point;

Brother-In-Law:  Fred Stempfle of Rockford, Illinois and

Nieces & Nephews.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
