It’s here! The 2017 Winneshiek County Fair in Decorah is set to begin next week!

While the official Fair week begins Tuesday, July 11, the 4-H/FFA Dog Show was moved to Monday to accommodate a large number of entries.

In total, the fair will offer five full days of fun and entertainment for visitors of all ages.

A list of every scheduled event this year (Grandstand events requiring a button are bolded), along with its time and location, is as follows:

Monday, July 10

  •  9:30 a.m. – 4-H/FFA Dog Show – Show Barn.

 

Tuesday, July 11

  •  11:30 a.m. – Grandma’s Homemade Bread Contest – Variety Tent;
  •  11:30 a.m. – Lefsa Contest – Variety Tent;
  •  11:30 a.m. – “Simply Starters” hors d’oeuvres – Fontanelle Shelter;
  •  12:30 p.m. – Nancy’s Timeless Melody – Fontanelle Shelter;

Buttons for the admission to all Grandstand events are available for $30 in advance and $35 at the gate (ages 6 and under are free).

Buttons can be obtained from 4-H leaders, Fair Board members, online, and at many local businesses.

To purchase online with a credit card or PayPal account, visit www.winneshiekcountyfair.org/buttons.html and click “Buy Now.” After purchasing, the buttons will be available under the Grandstand across from the fair office.

If not prepurchased, buttons will be available at the fair in the area under the Grandstand, across from the office.
