Grab-n-go tie blanket workshop

Chase Adam, a member of the Prairie Shooting Stars and the Winneshiek County Council, is hosting a grab-n-go tie blanket workshop. Participants will be able to make two blankets, one to keep and one to donate to EveryStep Grief & Loss Services, an organization that provides Cheer Boxes to children who lose a parent.

This organization is especially important to Chase because in 2015 when he lost his father, this organization sent him a "Cheer Box" to help him in the grieving process of losing his father.

If you would like to donate fleece for this project, donations can be dropped off at the Winneshiek County Extension Office (325B Washington Street Decorah Iowa) or monetary donations can be made to the Winneshiek County Extension Office Tie Blanket Project.

The grab-n-go tie blanket kits can be picked up at the Winneshiek County Extension Office which is located at 325B Washington Street in Decorah. The hours kits can be picked up are between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Kits will be available for pick-up starting June 24. Chase asks that completed blankets be returned to the Extension Office by July 22.

For more information, please contact Chase at 2023cadam@swinn.k12.ua.us or (563)568-1389.
