Dora Albertson

Dora Lee Albertson, 89, of Elgin, Iowa passed away on Monday, August 24. 2020 at Evan’s Memorial Home in Cresco, Iowa. Dora Lee was born April 25, 1931 in Elgin, Iowa to Edward and Dorothy (Ash) Medberry. She went to school in Elgin and graduated in 1948.

Dora Lee was married to Gordon Landswerk in 1950. To this union four children were born. In 1974 Dora Lee was united in marriage with Cliff Albertson. They lived in Elgin and she worked as a rural route driver for the United States Post Office there for several years and then drove school bus. She was also the Mayor of Elgin. Dora Lee was a great cook, enjoyed gardening, had lots of friends and loved her life and lived it the way she wanted.

Surviving Dora Lee are her children, Karen (Mike) Webster, Gary (Anne) Landswerk, Jane (Joe) Truka and Joan (Lyle) Landswerk; eleven grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and a sister, Reve (Bruce).

Dora Lee was preceded in death by her husband, Cliff Albertson; her parents, Edward and Dorothy Medberry; brother, Keith Medberry; and an infant grandson, Lance.

There will be a Private Family Graveside Service held.

Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Elgin, Iowa is assisting the family with arrangements.
