LeAnn Hulbert

LeAnna Jane Hulbert, 92, of Clermont, Iowa died Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at Stoney Brook in West Union, Iowa. LeAnna Jane was born May 23, 1928, to Oscar and Helen Johnson Osmundson of West Union. She was baptized and confirmed at West Clermont Lutheran Church, Clermont, where she remained a lifelong member. She received her education at Clermont Schools, graduating with the class of 1946.

LeAnna was united in marriage with Verdell Benjamin Hulbert October 3, 1949, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua. One son was born to this union. Verdell's death occurred September 11, 1963.

After her husband's death, LeAnna was employed by the Fayette County Superintendent's Office, West Union, in 1964. With the formation of Keystone AEA I, Elkader, and the closing of county superintendent's offices, she began employment at Keystone. She worked there until her retirement on June 30, 1990.

From the age of six years until she became a resident of Stoney Brook Village, West Union, in 2017, LeAnna had continued to live in the same house in Clermont. Clermont was always very dear to her heart. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family.

LeAnna leaves to mourn her death, her son, Terry (Kathy), Wadena; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceding her in death were her husband, parents, in-laws, Ben and Ninabell Hulbert; two sisters, K. Lorraine Lestina Berns and Arlene Welsh; brothers-in-law, Gerald Lestina, Roland Berns and Dale Welsh; great-niece, great-nephew, great-great-­niece and great-great-nephew.

A Public Graveside Service was held at 2:00pm on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at God’s Acres Cemetery in Clermont, Iowa with Pastor Roland Waterman as the officiant.

Schutte-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Clermont, Iowa is assisting the family with arrangements.
