Lois J. Miller, 87, of Fayette, formerly of Maynard, Iowa, Temple Bar, Arizona and Ranch Cucamonga, California died Monday morning, October 26, 2020 at the Gundersen Palmer Hospital in West Union, Iowa.

Private family services will be held at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Maynard, Iowa.

Interment: National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, Phoenix, Arizona.

  Memorials may be directed in her name to the Maynard Public Library, Gundersen Palmer Hospital in West Union or Maple Crest Manor in Fayette.

Lois Joy Hennager was born November 27, 1932 in Grand Meadow, Minnesota the daughter of Connie and Lona V. (Milligan) Hennager.  She graduated from Oelwein High School in Oelwein, Iowa.  Lois married Harold Givins and they later divorced.  On October 21, 1961, she was united in marriage to Harold Miller at Las Vegas, Nevada.  She was employed for many years as a secretary for Sunkist Orange Company in California.  Lois enjoyed reading and writing, she wrote a series of books: Big Spot, Tall Tales and Where the Lilacs Bloom.  She also enjoyed, playing cards, going to the casino and spending time with her family and family reunions.

Lois is survived by her stepdaughter: Kristine (Kevin) Shelton of Pine Top, Arizona; 2 step grandsons: Michael Elias and Daniel Elias; 1 brother: Don (Marilyn) Hennager of Austin, Minnesota; 2 sisters-in-law: Peggy Hennager of Fayette and Jackie Hennager-Schmitdt Monroe, Wisconsin; and many nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Harold Miller; 2 sisters: Grace Evenson and Midge Clough; and 4 brothers: CJ Hennager, Gene Hennager, Hollis Hennager and Robert Hennager.
