Jack R. Williams, 61, of Westgate, Iowa, died on Sunday evening, December 27, 2020 at MercyOne Medical Center in Oelwein, Iowa.

Memorial Service were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 4, 2020 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Westgate with Rev. Herbert C. Mueller, III officiating.

Visitation was from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, January 3, 2020 at the West Central School in Maynard and for one hour before the service at the church on Monday.

Inurnment was at the St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery, Westgate.

Those not able to attend may view the memorial service on the funeral home website after Monday.

Due to state and federal guidance on gatherings and the recent surge in the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing will be required.  Those in attendance were required to wear a mask.  We encourage relatives and friends not able to attend the service to reach out to the family by leaving a message on the funeral home web site, by mail, text or phone.

Jack Robert Williams was born November 8, 1959 at Oelwein, Iowa, the son of Dale R. and Fern (Meyer) Williams.  In 1978, he graduated from West Central High School in Maynard.  Jack farmed and raised cattle in the Westgate and Maynard area for many years.  He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church and Fayette Cattlemen’s Association for many years.  Jack proudly served on the West Central School Board for 13 years, where he served as Board President for 11 years.  He shared his mother Fern’s love for cooking and baking.  Jack enjoyed cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes, Green Bay Packers and the West Central Blue Devils, his dogs and most of all spending time with his children.

Jack is survived by his 3 children: Jessica Williams (Brandon) Cooper of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, Andrew (Shelby) Williams of Fairbank and Lindy Williams (Colin Weber) of Waterloo; 4 granddaughters: Cassandra Housley (Patrick Lovins), Madison Housley (Austin Blankenship), Taryn Housley, Evelyn Fern Williams and Baby Girl Weber expected in February 2021;

step-grandson: Jace Weber;

2 sisters: Susan Groth of Dubuque and Julie Williams of Oelwein; stepmother: Phyllis Williams of Fayette; foster-sister-in-law: Iva Meyer of Oelwein; 4 stepbrothers: Randy Hoehne of Manchester, Kevin Hoehne of Sumner, Darrell (Doah) Hoehne of Eldon and Brent (Christine) Hoehne of Ham Lake, Minnesota; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother: Greg Williams; and foster brother: Jerry Meyer.
