Floyd E. Westpfahl, 93, of Oelwein, Iowa died Sunday morning, February 28, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.

A private family memorial service will be held at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein.

Inurnment will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery at a later date.

Floyd Erich Westpfahl was born January 6, 1928 at Hawkeye, Iowa, the son of Erich and Clara (Wendlend) Westpfahl.  He graduated from West Union High School.  Floyd proudly served in the United States Army Signal Corps during the Korean Conflict.  On November 6, 1955, he was united in marriage to Beverly Ann Johnson at the Lutheran Church in West Union.  Floyd was employed for many years at Oelwein Tool & Die and retired from Donaldson.  He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Oelwein.  Floyd enjoyed woodworking for family and friends.

Floyd is survived by his wife: Beverly Westpfahl of Oelwein; 3 sons: Steve (Shyla) Westpfahl of Oelwein, Rick (Andrea) Westpfahl of Pleasant Valley, Missouri and David (Connie) Westpfahl of Oelwein; 6 grandchildren: Sheena (Tim) Palmer, Jason (Heather) Westpfahl, Shawn Westpfahl (Wanda Muir), Rachel (Latif) Sale`, Dustin Westpfahl and Adam Westpfahl (Dawn Harriman); and 12 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and parents-in-law: Harold and Artis Johnson.
