Lois Ann Langreck age 78 of Waucoma, IA died Friday, March 29, 2024, at Hillcrest Home in Sumner, IA. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Waucoma with Rev. Nick Radloff celebrating the Mass. Interment will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery in Waucoma.

Bernice Karnik age 94 of Little Turkey, IA died Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at Regional Health Services of Howard County in Cresco, IA. 

As per Bernice's wishes a private family gathering and burial at St. Mary's Cemetery in Little Turkey will take place at a later date.

Ronald Lewis Rasmusson

Ronald Lewis Rasmusson 

Ronald Lewis Rasmusson passed away on March 11, 2024, at Infinity Hospice Care in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Ronald was born in Nevada, Iowa, on January 20, 1943. He was the beloved son of Jeffery and Edith Rasmusson. Ronald’s beginning was unusual.  Shortly after his birth, the hospital caught fire, which eventually destroyed the hospital.  Ronald’s mother, Edith, smelled smoke and ran to the nursery to get baby Ronald.  She then climbed down numerous flights of stairs to safety.

Mary Ella Wright

Mary Ella Wright, age 86, of Rochester, Minnesota, formerly of West Union, Iowa, passed away on March 19, 2024. She was born on December 10, 1937 in Maynard, Iowa to parents Frank and Lillian Whitney.

Mary graduated from high school in Maynard in 1956. On June 14, 1958, she married Tom Wright at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. The couple initially made their home in West Union, before moving to Rochester in 1999. For the last four years, Mary resided at The Waters on Mayowood Assisted Living.

Her initial job was with the Iowa State Patrol as a driver’s license examiner. She then worked for the Fayette County Assessor's Office until retirement.  Mary spent many years as a volunteer EMT on the West Union ambulance crew. She enjoyed mushroom hunting, cooking, and baking assuring that no one went hungry.  Above all, she treasured spending time with her beloved pets, family, and friends.

Louise Kleppe, 87, of Oelwein passed away Sunday, March 3, 2024 at MercyOne Medical Center in Oelwein.  Graveside services will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Friday March 29, 2024 at Bethany Lutheran Church Cemetery in Ossian.  All friends and family are welcome to attend.  A Celebration of Life for both Richard and Louise will be held from 12:00-4:00 p.m. on Saturday March 30, 2024 at the American Legion Post 9 in Oelwein.  Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.  The Geilenfeld-Buehner Funeral Home in Oelwein is assisting the family.  www.geilenfeldfh.com

Denise Ann Lasley, 61, of Columbia, MO passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2024, in Columbia, from a lifelong battle with cancer.

Family & friends may gather Saturday, April 6th at 10:00 a.m. at Midway Locust Grove Church, 2600 N Locust Grove Church Road, Columbia, MO. Memorial service will begin at 11:00 a.m. and private family graveside service will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Denise was born December 14, 1962, to Carlton and Janet (Heines) Krueger of Elgin, IA. Denise was the middle daughter of three sisters. She joined Sam in marriage on March 21, 1987, in Lancaster, MO and in this union two children were born, Logan and Lindsey. They relocated their family to Columbia, MO in 1989.

Larry L. Toenges, 72, of rural Sumner, died Saturday, March 16, 2024, at his home, surrounded by loving family.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 25, 2024, at Faith Evangelical Church in Sumner with Rev. Brian Boehmler officiating. Visitation was held from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Sunday, March 24th at Faith Evangelical Church and for one-hour preceding services at the Church on Monday.       Sally A. Muller, 68, of West Union, IA, formerly of Waukon, IA, died Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at her home in West Union. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 22nd, at Oakland Cemetery in Waukon with Pastor Duane Smith officiating. Friends may greet the family from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. on Friday, prior to the graveside service, at Martin - Grau Funeral Home in Waukon.

     Sally Ann (Kugel) Muller was born August 2, 1955, in Waukon, IA, to Roger and Mary Ann (Muchow) Kugel. She graduated from Waukon High School in 1973, received a degree in dairy herd management from NICC in Calmar in 1983, and then received a degree in computer technology in 1995, also from NICC. Sally worked many jobs over the years, most recently as an administrative assistant at Upper Iowa University in Fayette.

Pamela J. McManigle, 74, of rural Alpha, died unexpectedly, Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at Gundersen Palmer Lutheran Hospital in West Union.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 18, 2024, at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Strawberry Point with Rev. Kate Johnson officiating. Interment followed at the Strawberry Point Cemetery. Visitation was held from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., Sunday, March 17th at Becker & Son Funeral Home in Hawkeye and for one-hour preceding services at the Church on Monday. Myrna Moore age 89 of Fredericksburg, IA, died Monday, March 11, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family. 

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 15, 2024, at Hillcrest Baptist & Brethren Church in Fredericksburg with Rev. Scott Smith officiating. Interment will be held at the Apostolic Cemetery, rural Elgin, IA. 

Friends may greet the family from 4 - 6 p.m. Thursday, March 14, 2024, at Hugeback - Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory in Fredericksburg. Visitation continues an hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. 

Myrna Mae Moore passed away peacefully on March 11, 2024, in Fredericksburg, IA. Born on December 23, 1934, the daughter of Paul and Ethel (Stevenson) Laue, in Lime Springs, IA, Myrna's journey was one marked by curiosity, dedication, faith, and the joy of teaching.
