Recycling reminders for the New Year

Recycling reminders for the New Year

As the holiday season winds down, residents are reminded of what can and cannot be placed in Fayette County recycling bins.

In addition to no wrapping paper being accepted, everyone is asked to pull all plastic bags and packaging from boxes. All recyclable materials are to be placed in the proper recycling compartments, free of plastic bagging. Boxes are to be flattened.

Additional accepted/unaccepted items include the following.

Cardboard
Accepted

Basic corrugated boxes or sheets, cereal boxes, shoe boxes or similar containers. Again, flatten all boxes. Remove all styrofoam, plastic bags and any other packaging. Staples, tape and labeling is fine to leave on. Large volumes of cardboard may be directly delivered to the recycling center, located at 1825 Lane Road, rural Fayette, from 7 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.
