Don and Janice (Bierman) Durscher are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary.

They were married March 19, 1960, at St. Paul’s Evangelical and Reformed Church Buck Creek Road. 

They have four children: Jeff, Fayette; Brenda (Rod) Weber, Richfield, WI; Scott (Anne), Waverly and Tom (Heather), Inver Grover Heights, MN; and 10 grandchildren.

TigerHawk boys go 1-1 in UIC play

TigerHawk big man Grant Stolka takes a mid-range jumper during recent NFV boys’ basketball action. Last week, North Fayette Valley split a pair of Upper Iowa Conference matchups as Stolka averaged five points and five rebounds in the two games.

The North Fayette Valley boys’ basketball team notched win number 11 of the season last week over Clayton Ridge, but also dropped a contest to UIC-leading Turkey Valley. The week bumped the TigerHawks’ overall record to 11-9.

The TigerHawks notched a big, 49-31, win over the Eagles on Tuesday night in Garnavillo as senior Brennan Imoehl led the way with 15 points.

Both teams got off to a slow start as NFV led 8-5 after one quarter, but the TigerHawks eventually got it going as they outscored the Eagles 33-11 over the second and third quarters.

Mike and Sandy (Sutter) Moser are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.  

They were married January 30, 1970, at The Little Brown Church in Nashua.  They have two children:  Krista (Ron) Dunt and Troy (Brenda) Moser; and eight grandchildren:  Hailey, Emily, Kortney, Morgan, Spencer, Parker, Brooks and Gage.  

In recognition of their special day, their children will be hosting an open house in their honor.  Friends and relatives are invited to join them on Saturday, February 1, from 2 to 4 p.m., at the West Union Fire Station.  The couple requests no gifts.
