Mr. and Mrs. Sam Roberts

Sam and Karen (Krueger) Roberts of Apache Junction, Ariz., formerly of Elgin, will celebrate their 50^th wedding anniversary on Friday, Sept. 21.

Sam Roberts and the former Karen Krueger were married Sept. 21, 1968, at First Baptist Church in Elgin.

    They are the parents of Krista Bentson, Stacy Kirwin and Kelly Roberts.  Sam and Karen also have eight grandchildren and a great-grandson.

    The couple celebrated their anniversary with a family gathering in August.

Mr. and Mrs. Mark Arthur

Mark and Nancy (Frueh) Arthur were married Aug. 31, 1968, at Asbury Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids.

 Their family invites friends and relatives to join them for the open house celebration of the couple’s 50^th wedding anniversary.  

The celebration, which will include a buffet, will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31, at the Hawkeye Community Center in Hawkeye.  

The open house is being hosted by Mark and Nancy’s children,  Brenda (Jesse) Miller, Kerry (Mark) Schmitz, Tina Arthur, and Tim (Amanda) Arthur. Their family also includes nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Reuben and Mary Steffens of Clermont will celebrate 70 years of marriage on Wednesday, Aug. 1.

Teff Lechtenberg

Nick and Carlyn Lechtenberg of Waukon are happy to announce the birth of their son, Teff James Lechtenberg, born Thursday, July 12, 2018, at Mayo Clinic Health System in LaCrosse, Wis. 

Teff weighed 5 lbs. 15 oz. and measured 18.75 inches in length at the time of his birth.

He is the couple’s second child.

Grandparents are Ray and Kerry Wacker of Waukon, Craig and Jane Rood of Elgin, and the late Joe Lechtenberg of Postville.

Great-grandparents are Micki Connor of Waukon, Ray and Shirley Wacker of Boscobel, Wis., Sylvia Loftsgard of Clermont, Edna Lechtenberg of Postville, and Dale Rood of Viroqua,

Herbert Langreck of Hawkeye will celebrate his 85^th birthday on Saturday, July 28.

Crayton and Judy (Knight) Ash of Elgin will celebrate their 50^th wedding anniversary on Friday, July 6.

They are the parents of Christopher (deceased), Steve and Mindy. The Ashes also have four grandchildren and a great-grandson.

The couple will celebrate their anniversary with a family gathering in mid-July.

Ethan Robert Luchsinger

Jon and Danielle Luchsinger of West Union are pleased to announce the birth of their son, Ethan Robert. 

Ethan arrived at 5:03 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2018, weighing 8 lb. ½ oz. and measuring 20.25 inches long.

He joins his 19-month-old big sister Emily Rose at home.

Proud grandparents are Scott and Carolyn Luchsinger of Fayette and Jim and Marilyn Mihm of Waucoma.

Great-grandparents are Robert and Mildred Steinbronn of Fayette, Frieda Mihm of West Union, and Ann Whitnable of New Hampton.

Mr. and Mrs. Steven Wander

Cassie Joellen King and Steven Charles Wander, both of Clermont, exchanged marriage vows in a 3 p.m. ceremony on Saturday, May 26. The wedding was officiated by Pastor Lee Boleyn at First Baptist Church in Elgin.

Parents of the couple are Harlen and Esther King of Rockwood, Penn., and Steve and Eileen Wander of Elgin.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a strapless, white A-line gown featuring a sweetheart neckline and a bodice embroidered with swirls of crystal beading. The full skirt was comprised of layers of cascading ruffles, which continued into the train of the gown. Cassie carried a silk bouquet of white roses with deep purple and silver floral accents.
